It’s great to see the growth of lacrosse as a spring sport and the way it has attracted top h.s. athletes in Idaho and other states. In fact, the state track meet in Idaho is now known as "the fastest kids who couldn’t make the lacrosse team."

It’s weird to see Lil Wayne acting normal…. I didn’t know he could do it.

Would I have pulled a cheap shot like that? No.

CP22 is the man. But is he really doing all that much for Lacrosse? I’ll need to check out his company. One thing’s for certain, I’ve always wished Brine & Warrior had more of a local presence in lesser-known lacrosse communities. I wonder if they’ve ever considered having a "street team" that travels the US running promotions? Kinda like those Oscar-Myer Weiner folks…

Great to see the old school bucket helmet, everyone should have to put one on. That will let you know how far this sport has already come. Are those L35 also? Wow.

That was weird. Kenny Mayne is weird.

It’s a weak storyline. Usually Mayne is a very funny guy, Sopranos guys are professional and clever, Bobby Flay is famous and a big personality……but then some guy in a cowboy hat steals the show (such as it is). Good cast, bad script.

College lax players seem to guzzle Red Bull, while NBAers use other relaxing herbal remedies. I don’t think the sleep thing is in the cards for the hyper A.D.D. lacrosse crowd.

In my opinion – definitely not. Lax fans follow the game closely. We may be crazy fanatics but not in any way A.D.D.

I’d like to learn more about Campbell’s story. Sounds like he’s had quite the lacrosse journey. The insight he gave on picking the right school = priceless. Wish I would have read that when I was a senior in HS.

K 18s all the way. I have been using the armguards for almost three years now and haven’t seen anything that can match there mobility and breathability. I don’t know much about the gloves and shoulder pads but as far as the armguards go…….nothing compares to the K18

Love the photo of Gait. Glad to say I saw that game when I was in HS. I wish the gloves and arm guards offered better protect and last longer now. To much money for a set of gloves that won’t even make it one season. All the players on my team are always complaining about the gloves getting holes.

Also, another intresting point was brought to my attention today: Of all the major manufacturers (Brine, Warrior, STX, DeBeer, etc.), Reebok is the only one that sells their gear on their own website. IMO, Brine & the others better start thinking about doing that too…

I don’t see how it could. Goalies can’t wear different colored uniforms, so how would it? Are all goalies gonna start wearing net-patterned sweats. I don’t even think that’s legal. I believe it has to be a team color. Besides that it’s a lot easier to camouflage 3×3 than it is 6×6

I was thinking that using red mesh would be good for keepers. It catches the eye and might skew some split second decisions by shooters.

I see what you mean. It really doesn’t have a message. "Come to the MCLA because we’re playing lacrosse." It feels like this has been a problem throughout lacrosse…

I think this a great video – awesome footage and narration – but I wish they would’ve added more meaning behind it. Yeah, it promotes the MCLA, but it seems like an internal promotion. I want the MCLA to start boasting about how incredibly talented their players are and how great a league it is. A real recruiting video, just like the NCAA does with their "student-athlete" commercials, is what the league needs.

Goalies are always looking for an edge…my keeper used to wear size 4X sweats just in the off chance a ball would get caught up in his pants on a 5 hole shot.

I dont think camo is the next big thing but goalies are going to always find SOMETHING they can use to push the limits of the rules.

It’s an awareness commercial. It’s supposed to make those who are unfamiliar with the MCLA aware of the organization’s legitimacy. If you know what the MCLA is, then yes, there’s nothing new to the message, but if you think teams like BYU, CSU and Michigan are just "club" teams, then the commercial might make you think twice about what’s going on outside the East Coast. Wouldn’t you agree?

I’ve done it at some summer lax camps, we called it tennis ball dodgeball and it was a blast! You can really wing those tennis balls and with goalie sticks it makes things interesting and the games last longer.

I suppose you have a point Mike. The question is, why make an awareness commercial if it’s not being distributed? The only way to see it is by going to MCLA associated websites, which if you’re visiting, you probably already have some idea of the what the MCLA is.

Now, if it were being sent out in DVD form to anyone with a US Lacrosse card, then it might make more sense.

They were aired during the MCLA championship TV broadcasts each year. Out of curiousity, what would you like to see in a MCLA commercial?

I’ve done this at a few camps I personally attended and then one I coached and a few practices here and there…always fun.

Mike, I don’t think these commercials were poorly done. In fact I think they’re fantastic, which is why I encouraged readers to check out the ones I didn’t post. The only thing I was confused about was how they were supposed to help the league. I didn’t catch them on CSTV, but if they did get some air time then I can understand their purpose. I was under the impression that they were simply created so they could be shown during the national tournament, then immediately posted on youtube.

If you ask me, the league needs to find a way to get commercials like this to high school athletes in the country’s lacrosse hot beds. I can’t pretend to know how that gets done, but I think it could help bring some more talent to the MCLA.
